    Default Can You Become a U.S. Citizen if You Have Cancer

    If you are a legal permanent resident of the U.S. and qualify for naturalization, but have recently been diagnosed with cancer, will the cancer diagnosis prevent naturalization?

    As long as you are healthy enough to study for and pass the civics test, and attend the interview and a naturalization ceremony, you can become a citizen.
