I live in Gainesville, Florida. I recently got terminated from a Federal Work Study job, and I suspect that it is due to gender discrimination and possibly ethnic as well.

My employer, who happens to be female, told me that her supervisor (also female) told her that I had the greatest number of complaints against me that the whole department has had in the last three years. This made me question the fairness of basing decisions on word-of-mouth. Anyone could say something about me just because they do not like my gender, and it just happens that a great deal of the employees are female, and I am certain that I am the only male working on that floor. I have considered suing them for what I feel was an unfair termination, but I do not know how to go about doing this. Would it be possible to contract an auditor, and would the department have the legal obligation to allow the auditor to investigate the gender distribution. If not, could I sue based on the grounds that company policy is flawed and inherently discriminatory? I thought of this because of the worst case scenario of a word fight. I have no physical evidence that discrimination is taking place, so I would have to attack the policy that fails to properly account for employee performance by basing it on word-of-mouth. As another possbility, could testifying witnesses serve as evidence to prove gender discrimination in a court of law? There is also an Asian sorority that was hired by the same department. Would that help my case, and how would I go about proving this?

Thank you,
