Default Why Would a Spouse Demand a Small Spousal Support Payment

A couple in Texas is in the middle of a divorce. The husband is in rehab. After answering the divorce complaint, the husband filed an addendum asking for spousal support, but he's asking only for $25 in support per month for a period of four months. Why would he make that demand, and what should the wife do?

Whatever he thinks he's up to, unless this actually comes before the court for a hearing it's a trivial amount and a meaningless gesture. If he brings a motion, it will be more clear what he might be up to. I would not be surprised if he was trying to get some money for while he is in rehab, but wrote down $25 instead of the larger amount that he intended to request.
