Default What to Do if You Receive a Letter from a Fraud Investigator

If you receive a letter from a California welfare fraud investigator, asking that you schedule an interview to discuss the findings of an investigation that he was conducting, what should you do? Is it possible to complete the interview by phone instead of in-person?

What you should do is speak with a criminal defense lawyer. If the investigation resulted in a finding that no fraud occurred, there would be no need for an interview. Odds are the investigator found evidence of fraud, and wants to add icing to the cake by getting you to confess.
