Default What Happens After an Eviction Case is Dismissed

If an eviction case against a tenant is dismissed because the landlord's manager did not appear in court, what happens next? What should the tenant do?

Default Re: What Happens After an Eviction Case is Dismissed

The landlord will have three options: (1) Try to reopen the case and get a new hearing, (2) restart the eviction process, or (3) continue the tenancy, as might happen if the problems that led to the eviction proceeding have been resolved.

If the problems are resolved, the tenant can confirm that fact with the landlord (e.g., get them to acknowledge that rent is paid in full for a nonpayment case; get them to acknowledge that any noncompliance with the lease has been corrected for an eviction for cause, etc.) and confirm that the landlord will allow the tenancy to continue.
