    Default Are You Liable for Damage to a Borrowed Car

    If you are driving a borrowed car, and another car kicks up a stone that hits and cracks the windshield, who is liable for the cost of window repair?

    From a legal standpoint, probably no one. From a standpoint of friendship, consider offering to cover the insurance deductible on a comprehensive insurance claim with the owner's insurance.
