    Default Medicine samples

I have no idea where to post this but it is medicine related. I am from georgia. I have been LPN for 2 years now and work at a urgent care clinic. Well, in the end of december my step-son came for a visit and he was taking some prescriptions medications. Some of the same one we just so happen to have at work so I asked a provider is I could have some samples to give him to help with cost. My husband filled out the papers to go into his chart allowing consent of treatment and the provider documented that she was giving these samples for him. Well, here in feb. my husband was paying on some of his son's medical bills and I wrote at the bottom of these bills that we gave two samples and that if they needed anymore to let us know or to let us know if any other medicine was needed that I would see if we could get them. Well, the ex's mother, who has been an RN for 25 yrs confronted me yesterday saying that I needed to stay out of the child support issuse cause she had me. She has my handwriting saying that I was giving out medicine and that it was illegal. She kept instructing me to stay out of the child support issue cause that she had me and could get me in trouble with the board of nursing. Does anyone have anythong thoughts on this issue and if there is something that can be done? Also, while there she continuesly cussed me as well as her young child who was threatening to beat me M.F. A$$ even if I was pregnant. Is it legal to record any conversations that take place at my vehicle? She made it a point to come out yesterday and tell me this. Any replies greatly appreciated.

    Your post is confusing.

    Who is who?

Your husband is the father of the child...and your husbands, ex-wife's mother assaulted you? Correct?

Did the husband have leagl custody to sign for treatment?

How have you been interjecting yourself in the custody battle?

Do you work with the RN?

my husband has joint custody, his ex-wife's mother is the one who said all of this, She did not assault me but threaten me as well as her son threaten me. The ex-wife stood there saying nothing through this. It was a PA who charted the meds. The mother of the ex just kept stating how she was an RN and knew the law but no I do not work with her. I know it is confusing because my husband doesn't really have trouble with his ex just her mother always calling and fussing about stuff. I have not interfered with anything with there case. I do not discuss it with them or anything. My husband has decided to open a case through child support enforcement cause he, and yes I do to, think it would be easier to go through them than to deal with his ex and her family every week calling to ask if the check is on the way. Since he decided that they have said I'm interfering.

Can you please answer lawmed's question? Was there documentation in your son's chart indicating that samples of a prescription were given per the provider's advice?

If the PA signed off that h/she gave the patient the samples, then you have nothing to worry about. Good luck!
