    Default Timeframe for a TBWD

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California

I submitted my TBWD about a week before my due date which is today. The notes online for my docket show it has now been extended to March 2017 for purposes of the TBWD. Typically how long does it take for them to process and make a decision? How long do they give the officer to respond? It is also interesting that the courtesy notice was returned. I'm wondering what address they have on file because my DMV address (on my liense) is my current address. They only seemed to have my middle name spelled incorrectly, though. I got another ticket in June and never received a notice but that one doesn't appear to have been turned in by the officer, so I have to wait the 1 year on that.

I am worried that my case's decision may not end up in my mail box because the courtesy notice was returned to the court. How should I go about correcting that?

If the court has scheduled the matter to be decided in March, then it's reasonable to expect that it will be decided on the date in March specified by the court.

If you believe you have the wrong address on file with the court, correct your address with the court.

The court verified they had the correct address. I am very confused now.

For the complete process see Trial by Written Declaration Checklist.

"How long do they give the officer to respond?"
The citing officer is generally given 30 days from the date of the court mailing them the request for their declaration.

"I am worried that my case's decision may not end up in my mail box because the courtesy notice was returned to the court. How should I go about correcting that?"
I wouldn't worry about it. You will eventually know; either they will keep your bail if found guilty or you will eventually receive a refund if found not guilty. The only situation this could affect is your time for filing for a new trial. If the court has your correct address, there isn't much you can do about it except to keep calling to check on the status of your case.
