My question involves juvenile law in the State of Kentucky.
Hi, I am 15 years old & I will be turning 16 in June. I was wondering if I am able to receive emancipation. Here's my story..
I've lived in Ohio most my life until I decided to move to Kentucky to live with my dads family when I was 13 going on 14, so therefore my grandmother in Ohio gave my grandmother in Kentucky power of attorney & so on. After a couple of months my grandmother in Kentucky, her health got bad so I moved in with my aunt while my grandmother still had power of attorney. Eventually my mom got power of attorney of me while I was still staying at my aunts house, then my mom finally left her abusive boyfriend & her & I moved in with another guy of hers & my mom ended up going back to her abusive boyfriend & I had to go to my aunts again. Unfortunately my aunt went to jail because of a position charge. Which as you know wasn't a very good environment for me & her three kids. Anyway, I moved in with my aunts best friends & they got temporary custody & I was fine for a couple months & we went to court & the judge took me from them friends of my aunt, & now I am in the state of Kentucky's custody & currently living with my great aunt.
I feel like I've not been in a stable home, & I feel like if I am granted emancipation, that it would be of great use. I would be able to stay at one home & not be thrown all over the state.
My question is, am I able to receive emancipation with my situation being like it is.
Thanks in advance.
