    Default Can You be Charged With Domestic Violence if You're Not Married to Your Partner

    If you are in an altercation with your partner, and live together but are not married, can you still be charged with domestic violence?

    Domestic violence charges apply to a wide range of domestic relationships, including romantic cohabitation and civil unions, in addition to marital relationships, so yes, a domestic violence charge is possible.
