    Default Do You Have to Pay Off Your Rent After Being Evicted

    If you are evicted from a property you rent for nonpayment, do you still have to pay the unpaid rent?

    Yes, you continue to owe the money. The landlord may obtain a civil judgment for the money you owe, and can treat it as a collection matter even without a judgment.
