    Default J Visa Waiver

I am a MD on a J visa, and have applied for a J visa waiver. My understanding is that I have a 5 yr requirement on the waiver for teh particular state I have filed for. My question is regards being bridged from H visa to green card. I will be getting married to a US citizen, and am not sure if I need to continue to serve in this health designated shortage area after the 5 yr requirement is up to bridge myself to a green card or does it get processed automatically due to the marriage once the requirement is up.In short do I need to be tied down to this facility to process my green card?

Also since I have already filed for the 5 yr waiver and marriage doesn`t follow till later this yr , I would like to know if the requirement for 5yrs gets shortened in anyway when married to a citizen or does it stay as such.

    Thanks

You mean, you applied for a J1 waiver job in an underserved area of the United States?
