    Default How Does Child Support from a New Divorce Affect an Existing Order

    If a parent divorces from a second marriage in California, and is ordered to pay child support for the children of that marriage, will the amount of child support that he is already ordered to pay from his prior marriage be reduced?

    The parent may file a petition for modification with the court from the first custody case. The court will review the facts of the case and the father's present situation, and may modify support after considering the full circumstances.
