Default Can You be Required to Vacate a Rental if it is Sold

A tenant has a one-year lease, and has about six months left in the lease, and rent is paid weekly. The landlord contacted the tenant and stated that the property has been sold, and that she needs to move out in a week. The tenant checked the property records and the person who the landlord says bought the property is already a co-owner. Can the tenant be required to move, and aren't they entitled to more notice?
