Default Can a House Guest File an Insurance Claim Over Stolen Property

If you are the guest in somebody's home for a few days, and while you are there some of your personal property gets stolen, can you make a claim with the homeowner's insurance?

Default Re: Can a House Guest File an Insurance Claim Over Stolen Property

It is possible that the homeowner's insurance will cover the theft of a guest's property from the homeowner's premises -- the guest can ask to review the homeowner's insurance policy, or make a claim for coverage along with the homeowner's claim for any stolen items and see what the adjuster says. If the theft occurred elsewhere, the guest should not anticipate any coverage.
