Default Can You Sue Your Ex-Husband for Parental Alienation Syndrome

If your ex-spouse engages in activities that cause your children to be alienated from you, thereby causing you extreme distress and mental suffering, can you sue your ex- for acts of parental alienation, or for defamation for saying false, bad things about you to your children?

Default Re: Can You Sue Your Ex-Husband for Parental Alienation Syndrome

When a parent is engaging in actions that alienate the children from the other parent, the best course of action is to try to nip it in the bud -- to bring appropriate motions before the custody court to limit the behavior or, when appropriate, to modify custody based upon the conduct. You should read this article about parental alienation, as well as this article about hostility in custody cases.

Whether or not there is a viable personal injury case will depend upon a factual analysis of the case. Consult a family lawyer about the issues and let your family lawyer give you some guidance about possible remedies.
