What to Do After a Class C Misdemeanor Arrest

A man in Texas was in an argument with his wife and she called 911. He was arrested by the police for a Class C misdemeanor, even though the wife didn't want to press charges. What should he do?

He should speak with a criminal defense lawyer about the charge and possible dispositions. In Texas, he may be able to get a deferral of the Class C misdemeanor and, upon successful completion of a deferred sentence, expunge the record of the offense.
