The law is the same in every state: If you have agreed not to work for anybody but your employer, and violate that agreement by accepting another job, your employer can fire you for cause.
The provision that you describe does not include any noncompete provisions -- which is to say, the clause creates grounds to terminate your employment, but that clause does not provide your employer with any basis to try to stop you from continuing to work for the other employer.
