Default Are Online Expungement Services Too Good To Be True?

I was on the internet searching for legal adice on expungements in NC. I came across this site http://www.removeit.org/Eligibility/Q.html

the company Expungement Assistance Services (EAS) is based in Washington DC. For a small fee they claim they can legally "erase" your criminal conviction if you meet certain screening requirements. how valid is this claim? is it worth the $300-$1000 the company will charge?

They must have a heck of an online ad campaign going. I think your questions are answered in this thread, "Expungement Services".

I am currently researching EAS. I found the website a few months ago and I have not made my final decision because it is costly. (worth it though!) From what I am reading off the website all EAS does is file the paperwork for you. You would still have to petition the court and pay the fee for that It says here that there are applicable fees not included in the $300 price listed on the website. I dont have understanding of all the state laws involved relating to the expungement process and that would be a major reason why I would use their service. I have called them serveral times to ask them questions and so far they have been helpful. i just havent made up my mind. but i would keep u updated if u need me to.
