Default Subtenant Asked to Move Out on Only a Week's Notice

A subtenant, renting an apartment in Florida, has been told that he has to move out in one week. No written notice was given. The master tenant simply decided to end the tenancy and didn't tell the subtenant until now. The master tenant's landlord knows about the subtenancy, but there has been no further involvement with that landlord. What are the subtenant's rights?
