A resident of California was placed on felony probation, and stopped appearing when he became homeless. He moved across the state and got a job, and has stabilized his life. However, he has a felony probation warrant for his past probation violation. He would like to serve his time in his present county of residence rather than going back to the sentencing court, but has been told that he must go back. Is there a way to avoid going back or to have his jail time transferred to the new county of residence?
