Default Why is it Difficult for a Malpractice Victim to Find a Lawyer

A man in New York was injured by medical malpractice. His sister is a lawyer, and she thinks he has a clear case of malpractice. However, no law firm has been willing to accept him as a client. Why won't medical malpractice firms take his case?

The best person to answer that question is one of the lawyers who declined the case, followed by his lawyer sister.

Odds are the reason is that the malpractice firm disagrees with the assessment that it's a clear or easy case, finds that the amount of damages likely to be recovered is inadequate to justify the investment of money and time in a malpractice lawsuit, or both -- but we can only offer an educated guess.
