    Default Re: 3rd strike law

I think it safe to say most, if not all, states have habitual offender laws regarding sentencing whether they be 2 strikes, 3 strikes or some other combination. Typically, a 3 strikes law will provide that if a person is convicted of 3 types of criminal offenses, then on the 3rd one they receive some type of mandatory sentence--possibly a life sentence.
