Default How to Prove That Your Income Will Continue When Filing Form I-864

    Hi everyone,

I have a question that's been confusing me for a while. My husband, who is US citizen by born, is filing I864 for my green card. We decided to add my income on top of his income to prove we are above the poverty line.

My confusion is, how I can prove my current income will continue come from the same resource after I obtain green card? I have a letter from my employer, but it only says when I was hired, what my annual salary is. It didn't say it will cotinue be like that after I get green card. Should I ask my employer to add that I will continue working for them after I get my green card? I'm pretty sure I will stay with my current company. But the question is, will my employer be willing to say that on the letter?

Is there any other evidence I can use to prove my income will come from the same resource?

    Thank you!!

Getting such a statement will help. I presume that you are legally employable now before your status is adjusted.

Hi! Yes, I'm legally employable now.

So you mean the letter I got from my empolyer is sufficent enough to prove my income will continue from the same resource?

Yes, things are always subject to change, they just want to make sure that your status change (and any moves incumbent in your new residency) won't affect your continued employment rather than a promise they won't ever fire you.
