Default Reducing Prices as a Favor to Co-Workers

I work at a department store . Often times we were told to change prices as a form of promotion to sign up for our store card. There was even an instance where my manger told me to change a price for damage . He also told me that if a customer challenged a price and it was like a 1 dollar difference , I should just change it , rather than calling him over. Every now and then I would slightly change prices for others , mainly co-workers who were aware of my ability to do so. I have not been charged with anything yet but my co-workers that are in a similar situation have been ordered to pay up and also have been told they will receive court papers. They were also told to sign and write statements. The reason why I haven't been interviewed is because I have been on leave since August. Mind you , I was completely oblivious to any of my actions being wrong. While I was on leave , my co-worker contacted me to let me know the situation . Recently , (NOVEMBER 22) , somebody from Target asked me to come in so they can speak about my "hours". I am sure that it is a trap so they can interrogate me and make me sign statements . What should be my next steps?

You had no idea that changing a price to help out a co-worker wasn't wrong? That's theft just the same as if you pocketed money from the register.

I'd see about a consultation with an attorney. You can usually speak to one for a few minutes free of charge. And stop stealing.

By the way, if that's your real name, you just admitted to wrongdoing on a website that is searchable from Google.
