Default What Can You Do if You Can't Afford Your Bills, 3 Years After Chapter 7 Bankruptcy

My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: New Jersey

I claimed Chapter 7 bankruptcy 3 years ago. For 2 years I was good with my credit, but this year has been a disaster. I took out an online loan for $6500, maxed out a $5000 Visa, and I have numerous store credit cards that have anywhere from $200 to $1500 on them.

I am still working, making about $500/week. But I am behind on all of these cards anywhere from 2-3 months. And the loan payment is behind 2 months. I know I can't claim bankruptcy again, but I am wondering if these companies would eventually take me to court and garnish my wages? How much? Or what would happen in a situation like this.

Even with a prior Chapter 7 discharge, you can consider a Chapter 13 bankruptcy.

Normally I do not criticize the OP, however, while Mr. K's suggestion is a good one, before you consider the 13 you need to learn to live without credit - living within your means. The first lesson folks should learn after being "forced" to file bk is "If you can't pay cash for it you do not buy it" - plain and simple and a motto I have always lived by.

    Unfortunately, many don't learn that.

The first question they ask after bankruptcy is:

How soon can I get credit?

The next question after that is often:

How soon can I file bankruptcy again?

    Some people never learn.
