    Default How to Help a Parent Get Legal Status

    A man entered the U.S. illegally, married, had two children and then divorced. His oldest child is now turning eighteen and wants to know how she can help him get legal status. What can she do?

    When she turns 21 she can petition for him -- read this -- but it's not a fast process and his illegal entry and presence will create further difficulty. If he wants to remain in the U.S., keeping in mind that he is likely to be disappointed by what he learns, he should consult an immigration lawyer.
