So far, those who argue against roommates have not produced even one law or actual court ruling from anywhere in the nation where a court held that having a roommate negated someone's being self-sufficient.

As I understand it, it's not that an emancipated teen cannot have a roommate, but that for emancipation to take place, the teen needs to be able to demonstrate that they will be able to completely support themselves without depending on a roommate.
If the roommate were to move out two months later, would the emancipated teen still be able to pay all the rent, all the utilities, sufficient food, etc? If so, fine. If not, they are not self-sufficient.
I'm perfectly happy to accept that there are circumstances where a court may require such proof, but nobody has yet produced any legal authority to support that position.
I just want to know what other alternative is there im living in a camper trailor outside my grandparents house and they cant afford to take care of me if i guess i could get a job to help them but would it be much of a difference?
