My question involves name change laws in the State of: New York
I am currently trying to obtain dual citizenship with Italy through my paternal great grandfather. Unfortunately, I need to send in the birth and marraige records of all generations between him and myself, and my grandfather's birth certificate from 1920 says only "baby boy" in place of his first name. It seems unlikely that the Italian consulate will accept this. Is there any way to correct this at this point? My grandfather is 96 years old now and essentially housebound in Maine so anything that involves him appearing in court in New York is pretty much out. Thanks!
