About a month ago, I posted in reference to a few collection accounts on my husband's credit report. The total was $3794 among NINE agencies, 7 of which were past the SOL for collection. We received 2 letters back almost immediately (the two agencies with whom the debt hadn't yet expired by the SOL)... one offering to delete the listing entirely for 75% and the other for 56%. SIX of the others responded that they were sending the credit bureaus a request to delete their listings from DH's report. The one other hasn't responded but they are a company that no longer exists and the credit report shows him owing $0... that one doesn't worry me. I can have that account removed per Equifax since they are no longer in business... I still have to check with the other two bureaus to see what they'll do. So, almost $4K in nine accounts - all removed in one month because of a strongly worded letter and $495 in 2 settlements.

Thanks for all of your help guys!
