If a personal injury lawsuit is settled, and the lawyer is attempting to negotiate settlements of outstanding medical bills for less than the amount that the doctors are billing, how long will that process take?

Depending upon the policies of the doctors and the amounts at issue, it could take months -- or longer. I understand why the plaintiff would want any money held in escrow to cover medical bills to be released as quickly as possible, once the liens are settled, but sometimes it is the wait that finally inspires a medical office to settle for less than 100%.
