Returning to a store after switching tags

After a store has accepted an item for return what recourse do they have once the transaction is complete and you have left the store if they discover the tags were switched ? Specifically garments in a huge busy outlet store ( maybe with cameras ) This could have been months / years ago.

They are probably looking for you right now, why not try it again and see if you get caught.....

If there is evidence of a crime you can still be arrested long as SOL has not run out and evidence is still preserved yes by all mean go back and do it again!
