Default Are You Entitled to Residual Commissions After You Resign

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: New York,

I work in the contract recruitment space and the way my commission is earned is the following:

    - After a contract placement, the Client pays us and we pay the contractor (Company takes the difference as a profit).
    - The contractor clocks in every week/month how many hours they have worked for the Client and we invoice the Client for same.
    - Company pays me in advance based on commission structure but will be taken back if client decides not to pay the invoice (rare but it happens)

    My Question is:
if I resign...am i entitled to the commission for the length of the contract that a contractor I placed for as long as he keeps working??

Happy to clarify if anyone has questions.
