Default Application of Probation Rules to an Entire Household

If a person on probation has certain restrictions on his activities or possessions (e.g., no firearms, no Internet access), but wants to live with family, can the probation department deny the person permission to live in the household unless everybody in the household follows those same restrictions? That's not fair to the other members of the household, and it makes it less likely that anybody will agree to allow the probationer to live with them.

The probationer should speak with his probation officer about the restrictions, but the short answer is yes. The probation department is not going to want to figure out who owns what, whether the probationer is following his restrictions when forbidden items are in the house, or deal with the claim that "it belongs to somebody else" if a probation search finds the probationer in actual or constructive possession of a contraband item.
