Default Can a Debtor Decline to Give Creditors a Current Address

If you are dealing with a debt collector and don't want them to know your address after you move, are you allowed to refuse to give them your address? If you don't give a creditor or debt collector a new address, what can they do?

Default Re: Can a Debtor Decline to Give Creditors a Current Address

As is explained here, subject to the described restrictions, if a debt collector is not aware of your address it may make inquiries with third parties about your address.

If you don't want a collection agency to contact you, you should instruct them to stop. That way they won't end up going on fishing expeditions and potentially contacting your family members or employer in order to track you down.
