Default Making Payments on Written-Off Debts

If your credit report shows credit card debts that have been written off, and you make payments on those debts, will that cause the creditors to update their report or cause them to try to collect the balance of the debt?

Default Re: Making Payments on Written-Off Debts

If they are reporting the debt and the information that they have reported becomes inaccurate, they are supposed to submit updated information to the credit reporting agency.

As for whether they would try to collect a debt that they've written off, that will be up to the creditor and would likely depend upon how much money is owed and whether they believe that a collection effort would be successful.
