Default Is There a Cooling Off Period for Leases

If you sign a lease and change your mind about renting, and give notice the next day, can you get released from the lease without consequence? Is there a cooling off period for residential leases under California law?

There is no cooling off period. Once you sign, you're bound to the lease. You can see if your landlord will agree to release you and, if so, whether or not that release will come at a price.
