    Default Payment of Hours Worked

An employee quit her job, and had one more paycheck coming. She contacted her employer who said to come in to pick up her check on the regular payday. When she showed up, her employer told her that he wasn't giving her a paycheck and she should sue him. What should she do? This is in North Carolina.

Default Re: Payment of Hours Worked

She should file a wage complaint with the North Carolina Department of Labor. It won't cost her anything, and it should get her the money owed to her.
