Default Can a Lawyer Falsely Accuse Somebody of a Crime

If a defendant is on trial for a crime, can a lawyer falsely accuse another person of committing that crime as part of the defendant's defense? Can the lawyer put the person who he is accusing on the witness stand and accuse him in court?

Default Re: Can a Lawyer Falsely Accuse Somebody of a Crime

The attorney should not knowingly present false evidence in court.

That said, if it's so clear that the person was innocent, how would the attorney be able to make the person look guilty in court? And if the person looks like he may be guilty, how would the lawyer know that he's innocent?
