There is no automatic placement with a grandparent or other relative. If you want placement, you need to let the children's case worker know of your interest. You can expect to undergo a background check and home study.

Supervised visitation might be ordered if there are concerns about the children's welfare during visits with you -- and those concerns could be based upon a number of factors. It could be due to the case being in its early stages. Other factors may also potentially be involved.
