Is My Daughter Now Emancipated

My daughter turned 18 in December 2006. She was living with her mother in Utah and attending a local high school as a Senior. After her birthday, she dropped out of high school and moved out of her mother's home to California. If she stayed, she would have graduated in May 2007. Being that she is no longer attending high school and has moved out of her mother's home (mom was the custodial parent), is my daughter now emancipated?

Yes. My other children turned 18 before there graduation date as well. I continued to pay child support for each of them through the month of their graduation, which was always the end of May. However, they all stayed in school and lived with their mother until after graduation. So, I'm just wondering whether I am still required to pay child support through May, 2007 for this daughter even though she turned 18 last month, dropped out of school and moved out of her mother's home. In fact, she moved out of state.

If the minor is 18, is self-supporting, is not in high school, and no longer living at home, that would normally be sufficient grounds to ask that child support be terminated on the basis that she's no longer dependent. But you have to petition for modification of the order.
