Default Does Your Employer Have to Inform You About Discipline of Another Worker

An employee was physically assaulted at work, and the incident was caught on camera. The employee reported the attack to H.R. and they were informed that an investigation would be conducted. A week later, the employee who committed the assault is still at work and H.R. has nothing to say about the discipline. Does the employee have any right to demand information about the status of the investigation and what consequences or discipline may follow?
