My father, who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, will begin to file for bankcruptcy soon.
If he should pass away before the bankcruptcy filing is completed, can a family member complete the process in his absence?

No, but would it make much difference? If his estate is bankrupt, the creditors won't have anything to collect.
My father passed away this past Saturday. We had no time to complete the bankcrupty process. The attorney had just opened the case and had to close.
Is there anything we can do, or is there anything we should know concerning laws and what creditors can or cannot do?
Also, hospital bills are coming. Are we responsible? My mom is disabled and has no way of paying this. Will his children be held liable for the hospital bills?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
