My question involves criminal law for the state of: FL
I work in a liquor store and I had a discussion with my boss as to what to do if a minor is carded, denied, but then comes back with an adult. I remembered from my bartender certification that if we knew the adult was purchasing alcohol for a minor, we had the right to refuse the purchase. My boss, however, contends that if the person purchasing the alcohol at the store is of age, we cannot refuse the purchase, even if we suspect they are buying it for a minor. I've looked through the actual law statutes, but I can't find where it says anything either way on this. I feel really uncomfortable with the idea of selling to an adult if I have a strong suspicion that they're planning on turning around and giving it to a minor, but I have to show concrete proof of the law to my boss or else he says I have to sell it to the adult.
Any help here, please? Either to show my boss or put my fears to rest.
