Default Legal Separation and Financial Obligations if Wife Loses Her Job

I want to proceed with a legal separation to protect myself financially as much as possible. My wife had affairs during our marriage and we agree to get divorced but we have a reason that we need to stay legally married for another year. I want to file for a legal separation to protect myself financially as much as possible. If after filing for a legal separation my STBX loses her job, am I going to be financially responsible for her? I live in California.

Default Re: Legal Separation and financial obligations if wife loses her job

It's possible, so cover the possibility in the separation agreement. I suggest having a lawyer draft the agreement for you.
