To make a long story short, I met this girl last week, looked about 18-20, found out she was 16, she will be 17 in 4 months, I'm 23. Now I'm not asking because we did anything, I've only seen her in person twice at her job and talked on the phone a little. I didn't go looking for her, it just kinda happened that we met, and so far I like her, not your typical girl at 16. I'm still not sure if I want to be anything but friends, I'm almost a college graduate and she is still in highschool but I guess that is beside the point. Everyone is telling me I can't do anything with her because she is not 18, and I always thought that was the age of consent. I searched the forums and the internet but everything on Oklahoma consent laws were at least a year old. So before I pursue anything more with her I just want to make sure I am in the clear here, I have to much to lose over a girl. Everything I've read says 16 is the age of consent, and I just wanted to make sure there have not been any new laws enacted. Is there any law that states you can only be a certain number of years older like in Texas? I also read where our governor was trying to get a law passed where it would make it illegal for someone working for a school to have relations with someone under 18, I'm not sure if it has passed or not. I work at a work-study job here on campus, would that make me one of the school employees the law is refering to? Thanks for the help.
