Smile Changing Venue for a Divorce Case

Hello Men & Women of Washington State, Like you I’m seeking legal advice regarding a divorce in Klickitat County.

I’m thinking of changing the venue to the Dalles, OR as I can not find a licensed lawyer living in Goldendale.

Any help with a referral for either a good para legal or divorce lawyer in Goldendale or The Dalles.

Why do you believe you can change the venue not only to a different county within your state but to an entirely different state?

    Gresham, OR

It seems there are no lawyers in this area, small town and The Dalles is across the river, with lots of lawyers. so far I can talk to a lawyer in Seattle but only by phone and he can't help in court.

Separated, started divorce but lawyer used up my money, quit, got 250 a month alimony, still no divorce. He lives in Gresham, OR I'm in Goldendale, WA I tried Moderate Means they found no one that could help. He's been married 8-9 times and knows how this works, he's a smooth talker and talked me into signing a house we bought over to him. He's taken so much that we bought together, I thought this was community property state. He has a property worth 3-4 million with 2 houses on it and gets rent and I was only awarded 250 a month. The judge told him he could come on my property 3 Saturdays between 10-6 and pick up his things, some of those were bought by both of us, he's taken anything worth money and left the stuff that's scrap metal. Since he still has things in my house and on property he said he'd send someone else to pick his things up, how do they know what's his? If he brought things into the marriage aren't they considered community property? Can someone help me, I want to be on my own again and end this marriage.
I'm not sure if I'm using this forum correctly.....

A 0.21 second Google search gave me at least two divorce attorneys in Goldendale.

Things which he owned prior to marriage are generally NOT considered community property.

I'm sorry, I would Never use one as he tried to cheat my Dad when he was making his will, also everyone has told me to stay away from the female, as far as I know the good one was put in a home last yr.

What about the 15 or so more that advertise as practicing law in your county?

I would personally start with an organization such as the AAML rather than with Internet advertising. Imperfect, but still much better than "who is paying the most for an ad."

You generally can't venue shop and pick a venue where ever. A lot of attorneys will travel. Find someone that is willing to go to that specific courthouse. I'm sure they will if there are only 2 attorneys where you are.
