Default Using a Fake Social Security Number to Get a Credit Card, Then Defaulting

A friend of mine has a question and asked if I can ask here.. I automatically know it's considered fraud but at the same time how can they use it against her..

Spouse has a fake social he is illegal obviously so her being childish decided to get a credit card under that social that he is using and lost her job so never paid it and went to collection. Her ex spouse tried to get a car loan and was denied because of that credit card. Now he wants to fight that credit card and try to accuse her of fraud.

Question is can he being illegal and using a fake social and doing fraud himself be able to accuse her of fraud??

If she knew it was fake, then she committed fraud.

    Doesn't matter who accuses her.

That is the same thing I thought but she's like that would be stupid of him to do that because he knows that's not his either but I don't know will see what happens now she wants to know if their is a way she can report that social and that she is willing to accept what she did but not until she can find out who the real social owner is

She's in this up to her neck and the only way out, regardless of the consequences, is to report it to the proper authorities.

She can start by reporting the illegal alien to:

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In the United States, ICE is responsible for detaining illegal immigrants. Report names and locations of illegal aliens to this agency. Via the agency's website, you can find information for contacting the central agency[6] as well as local field offices in your area.[7] •ICE also operates a confidential tip hotline for the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. It is available toll-free at 1-866-DHS-2ICE (347-2423).

    And:

Customs and Border Protection is an agency in charge of securing the nation's borders. On the CPB website, you can find information for contacting one of the CPB's many regional Sector Offices as an alternative reporting method. •Like ICE, CPB operates an anonymous tip line. The number for this hotline is 1-800-BE-ALERT (232-25378.)

She can report his fraudulent use of a social security number to:

    https://www.ssa.gov/fraudreport/oig/...rting/form.htm

She is, of course, free to not mention her own fraud and gamble that it doesn't come back on her. That's her choice.

But she can certainly put him in the soup and maybe he'll be so busy running and hiding that he won't bother with her anymore.

Her fraud is not against her ex, its against the credit card company. Her ex spouse trying to get a car loan with a fake social is fraud as well. Then of course there is the whole illegal alien bit. They are both in it up to their necks.
