    Default Self Defense in Florida

My boyfriend who is 17 (turning 18 in March) recently got into a fight with a 24 year old cocaine dealer. Only problem is, is that the man got his jaw broken as well as a few broken ribs. My boyfriend wants to plead self defense because the man had a gun, but i don`t think the courts will look at that because of all the injuries! He also has an assault and battery charge in New York. Will they bring this information up in court? And is there anything he can do to keep from being locked up?? Thanks!

Hire an attorney for your son.

A self defense claim will be very dependent upon the facts and details of this case. I would venture to guess that the circumstances as to why he was in the company of a cocaine dealer might be detrimental to his situation.
