Default Using Somebody Else's Address For Creditors

Okay, so I have this dilemma. Someone, lets say Smith, who has never lived at my address (ever), has all of the sudden (within the last two months) used my home address to send to billing agencies. I have received 3 envelopes so far and they are all addressed to Smith's name and MY address. Is there a law against this or am I stuck with receiving Smith's mail?

Oh, and by the way I'm talking about in Texas and I've tried searching the Texas Statutes database and am having no luck. If someone could at least point me in the right direction, that would be awesome. (and please don't tell me to get a lawyer, I'm really hoping that this can be done pro se).

Do you know Smith, or why Smith would do this?

When you say "billing agencies" do you mean "collection agencies"?

It's possible that he didn't do anything. Somebody checking his credit history is likely to see a current association with your wife, and in turn see an association with you (through your wife). They have no current address for the debtor, so they're targeting another address associated with him (even if peripherally).

Mark the envelopes to indicate that he is not at your address, then return them to the sender.
